Reston Zoo

My brother and his family joined us for a visit to the Reston Zoo. I didn't realize it was not only a petting but feeding zoo, and probably should have prepared the kids because they wanted nothing to do with getting near the animals. My nephew Jack was a pro at it!
There is a whole barn where you can feed sheep, goats and pigs, as well as a safari ride where they actually stop and feed the animals. William got a little freaked out when the sheep would get in his face and "baaa" at him. I don't think he was ready for the noise. This was his first zoo trip, and he eventually got used to it.

There was a really neat variety of animals there, real and otherwise.

We are missing Daddy, as he was in Hotlanta watching the Hokies play HAlabama.

Patrick asked for this photo on here. He was disappointed that there were no pandas, but was content with photo in a mask.

We were there in 2003 two days after Hurricane Isabel went through Virginia. Despite the hurricane, it's a wonderful memory as it's one of the few times we spent with dh's uncle who passed away a couple of years later.

Thanks for bringing back the memories.
